Laboratory Grown Diamonds

At Melbourne Gold and Silver we are advocates for sustainable practices.

Our Laboratory Diamonds are conflict-free and are sourced with the highest quality.

Our mission is to provide our customers with beautiful diamonds that are conflict-free and grown in a controlled environment, making them an environmentally conscious choice.

How are Laboratory Diamonds made?

Laboratory-grown diamonds are made using advanced technological processes that simulate the extreme pressure and temperature conditions that occur deep within the Earth's mantle.

The process involves using a small piece of natural diamond to seed a high-pressure, high-temperature chamber filled with a carbon-rich gas.

The chamber is then heated and pressurized to create an environment that mimics the conditions necessary for diamond growth.

Over a period of several weeks to months, the carbon atoms bind together and crystalize into rough diamonds.

These rough diamonds are then cut and polished using the same techniques as natural diamonds to create the finished diamond.

The result is a beautiful, high-quality diamond that is visually and chemically identical to a natural diamond, but with the added benefits of being conflict-free, environmentally friendly and are cost-effective.
